My Story

SPEAKER /
MENTOR /
MULTI-AWARD WINNING ENTREPRENEUR

Julia grew up in a small household in Footscray, Melbourne. At a young age, Julia has witnessed her refugee parents navigate a foreign workforce, juggling multiple jobs and businesses to make ends meet for her and her older sister. Despite growing up with very little, Julia has always been inspired by her mother's resilience and determination to write her own story. During high school, Julia found her interest in community and events management, quickly establishing her passion for creating meaningful experiences.

From being awarded the Victorian Young Achiever at the age of 23, to recently being named the Australian Women's Small Business Champion, Julia has successfully grown and scaled her events business to triple in size during the industry's toughest of times—COVID-19.

Since then, Julia and her life and business partner Victor have multiplied their businesses within the experience and events industry. Now, with various brands under the JTPM Group, their goal is to continue to create an impact in their community.

Julia you have been a trailblazer not only in the events industry, but for young women from ethnic communities who are wishing to create opportunities for themselves and grow their own business and profile.

It was a pleasure to listen to your keynote at the Wyndham Tech School Student Leadership Program launch. I thought your message of being brave and daring to have a go was well received by students. You gave some great tips on how to overcome barriers to success and  your comments on leadership, problem solving, overcoming adversity and innovation were quite inspiring for our students.

Whether it be as an event manager, an event MC, or to facilitate a Q&A panel discussion, we can always rely on Julia Truong. Julia exudes professionalism on and off the stage, and has proven to be an outstanding addition to many of our events. She has a unique ability to understand event objectives, connect with our audiences and add value through her experience and incredible acumen. Julia’s warmth, authenticity, and professionalism is always enduring and hence we look forward to working together for many years ahead.
